Anxiety Management Therapies

Anxiety is such a widespread issue that a range of therapies are available to address it. Of course a certain amount of anxiety is a normal part of life, but too much can be distressing and at the far end of the scale can be considered an illness. When designing a treatment programme, a psychiatrist will take into account the severity of your problems and sometimes will advise that you undertake an anxiety management course. These can also be useful for people with ‘subclinical’ anxiety just to help them think about how they manage everyday issue in their lives.

Rather than being therapy, there is an educational programme of 6 to 8 sessions looking at the physiological effects of anxiety, understanding how we respond to stress and thinking about more functional ways in which we can react.
